about
This song is an ode to my favourite guitar, Francesca, the square neck resonator. I play her with a slide bar called a Lap Dog.
lyrics
When I'm not around, she don't make a sound
She just sits right there and stares at the wall.
She don't move an inch, from that place she sits
It's almost like she isn't there at all.
Oh my, my...don't steal her away
When I walk in there, I feel the tension in the air
And I know it won't be long until she sings
So I sit her on my knee, and she begins to sing with glee
As I run my fingers gently down her strings
Oh my, my...don't steal her away
oh my, my..she just loves to play.
She's got a Lap dog, a little Lap Dog, who loves to play.
Francesca, such a beautiful name.
If you come around, you might hear the sound
Of the two of us, singing up a storm
And if you're lucky then, we might sing again
All through the night and into the dawn
She's got a Lap dog, a little Lap Dog, who loves to play.
Oh my, my...Francesca...Oh my, my...don't steal her away
Oh my, my...Francesca...Oh my, my...don't steal her away
